there seems to be a kind of chain/gear slip or skip when im in some lower gears. but it only happens when im trying to climb though. maybe its from added force on the chain and stuff but i cant seem to figure it out.

Just start adjusting stuff! Steve Agent LOVES that!!
My professional opinion would be that your cable is too loose. You should have a "thingamajig" next to the "indiginar"..
Who am I kidding, ask Phil....
No need to thank me!

i had a similar problem with my mountainbike. i took it in to the shop and they ruled that the problem was that the cable HOUSING was too short from my derailuer to the bracket it fit into. there has to be the proper amount of buckle to the cable houseing it cant been straight it needs to have that flex to it to take out the play in the cable if not you are left with your cable flopping around loosely inside the housing no matter how much you adjust it. perhaps this is your problem as well

Bent derailleur hangers can cause this as well!! I have bent my hanger on my new fuel 6-7 times already and it's only 2mth's old. I straighten back out re adjust my in and out, & good to go. Most shops have a derailleur alignment tool to find the right angle but if your careful and try and match the hanger to the angle of the front chain ring up & down & front to back you should be very close. Take caution when pushing on these things one can easily go to far and poof. time for new hanger.
Good luck!!
