I got a set of Ultegra 6620's to put on my tarmac but i cant get my old looks off. They are stuck to the point that instead of them moving im just putting indentions into the spindle. I also know that i am turning the right way so dont give me that junk I read stuff about using liquid thread and hopfully that will work. But the sure fire way to unstick a pedal seems to be by using heat (as accoring to sheldon brown). But all of his references to heating were being done with aluminum arms. My crankarms are carbon fiber. So can you heat a carbon fiber crank arm? Or will it damage it? But then again hopefully the liquid thread stuff will work.

No dont heat your carbon crank arms. They are liable to turn into chocolate chip cookies. Be sure and grease your pedal threads next time.

are you using a 15mm wrench or a pedal wrench? Maybe we need to get you some weights for Christmas! ;D
I like Phil's comments though and I do like chocolate chips.
more leverage! I know we installed pedal washers with those cranks.

I agree with Phil and David. I had a similar problem with my first mountain bike, GT Pantera. grease those threads with actual grease and not chain lube or anything. I found an old grease gun at the house and put a little dab on it.
Keeping the arms strong is also good.

My guess is that your carbon crank as use an aluminumor titanium thread insert for the pedal threads and the installed pedals have a dis-similar metalurgical composition and has caused them to gall. Do not heat as it will cause the composite bond to weaken on the carbon crankset. Use a good penetrant oil and let soak for a day or two. Thenuse abut of muscle to break loose. A dab of anti seize on the new pedal installation should prevent in the future. Just my thoughts! Hope it helps!
