David R this is your big chance!!! · USA Cycling has announced the Tour of the Red River Gorge in Stanton, Ky. as the domestic qualifying opportunity for the 2008 UCI Junior Road and Time Trial World Championships. The two-day omnium race will take place June 14-15 with a time trial, criterium and road race for multiple categories. The top finisher in the men's and women's 17-18 time trial and the top finisher in the men's and women's 17-18 road race will be eligible to compete with the U.S. Junior National Team at the 2008 UCI Junior Road World Championships in Capetown, South Africa. The three-day event will also serve as a LAJORS race with 10-12, 13-14 and 15-16 omniums as well as a Collegiate event and a Collegiate open house. The top two 15-16 riders in the omnium will receive invitations to the 15-16 European Race Camp at the USA Cycling National Team House in Izegem, Belgium. The top three U23 women in the road race and time trial will receive automatic invita! tions and a travel stipend to USA Cycling's Women's National Talent Identification Camp at the United States Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo. What do you mean it's an opportunity for David? You DID see the road race? Is that 50 or 84 miles?
There is also a non-race ride that goes up to 104 miles. GREAT area for a ride.
