If anybody has the energy after Thanksgiving and Black friday, we are riding at Lake Barkley and the Canal loop. Depart from Madisonville around 9am. Saturday 29/08.

holy smokes! Lake Barkley! Bring your barf bag because that's not going to be an easy day in the saddle. Barkley has been called one of the toughest trails in the whole state of KY. It's been 2006 since I've ridden there. Steve once broke his thumb there on the rock garden section.
Then....throw in Canal loop to "cool down".
Ok....I'll have to check with the boss!
I thought black Friday was the day before a Saturday ride with Kenny. That's when you get to spend time with the family and say your goodbyes.

four of us started and only three of us came home. For a Kenny ride, that's a good day!
Seriously though...Barkley is a really awesome trail and if it had just a little work...it would be amazing. Right now, there are a few trees down and leaves thick enough to cover all the trail. We weren't the only ones on it though.

kent got some sweet video. The canal loop edition is especially cool because it was mounted facing backwards just over the rear tire. It looks like a shot from a motorbike during a road race beacuse the rider in view is coming towards the camera at the same speed. neat stuff.
The leaves and invisable roots made it hard to pick lines at barkley all 4 of us went down one time with david's and mine being of the endo variety. I think we have multiple crashes on tape too. I want to go back to barkley when I can actually see what im riding on. Im know its a great trail and I like the climbs and all but i dont know what alot of it looks like!!!!
There were probably 20 people on the trail at canal loop It is in great shape for this time of year and looks like it has been seeing a lot of use. hopefully some of the rooted out sections will heal this winter.

Well, Sounds like you all had a lot of Fun. Does Kent have his videos on line where we can view them?

I have it on my HDD right now. It needs to be edited. Right now, each video is 1 hour +. I was thinking we could try to edit it to about 5-10 minutes.
The problem with the rear camera aspect of Canal Loop is that we were making it look easy. It wasn't. Kent set a brisk pace.
I actually look like I know what I'm doing during the ride.
