First bicyclist to obtain a speed of greater than 60 miles per hour was Charles Minthorn on June 30, 1899 while riding behind a train on a 3 mile track. The first bicycle race to be broadcast on TV was the 6 day race at Madison Square Gardens on May 20, 1939. It was broadcast by W2XBS, NBC. Joe DiMaggio fired the starting pistol.

Happy Birthday to Peter Billingsley, or better known as Ralphie aka the "you'll shoot your eye out kid" from A Christmas story. There was a rumor for awhile that he did adult movies, but in fact it was the actor who played Ralphie's best friend Flick or the kid in the movie who stuck his tongue to the flag pole apparently he stuck with that theme in his later career.
